My memory of Edie is her warm presence and human spirit. Whenever I saw Edie on assignment or in the community, I noticed that people were drawn to her and she to people. She not only shined a light in her reporting, she was a bright light herself. She always had a warm smile on her face and had time for conversation with everyone. It was nice to know that a seasoned journalist such as Edie made time to reach back and bring others up along with her. Her goodwill and memory lives on.
Edie Huggins was a blessing to everyone who came in contact with her; she had such a love of craft, and the ease with which she related especially to those young professionals just starting out was legend. We've all been enriched by the gift of "Miss Edie.".
